Mercedes to Bajaj, Bangalore’s got something for all motor-heads
Bangalore, 16th March 2017: The Motor-heads are in for a huge auto-feast this weekend.
The city is hosting three different motor events, across the city over the weekend from 18th-20th, “The auto-enthusiasts are in for a treat, but are confused how to utilize their time optimally so all events can be attended.” said 24-year-old motor vehicle enthusiast, Abhishek from Indiranagar. “Three events in three days, it’s like diwali for car and bike lovers like me” added Abhishek.
All the latest cars and motorbikes will be on display to be watched, admired and experienced across the different events. Some events are selling the vehicle on display
The following five events will be taking place in the city this weekend:
Mercedes Luxe Drive
Mercedes’ annual event begins this Saturday at Varahasandra Express Way. The German company holds this event every year to display its latest offerings to the country. They also put their state-of-art safety technology on test by handing over the vehicles to professional drivers, to test the limits. The German giant is also providing Gourmet meals by Chef Ranveer Singh to their guests. It will be a motoring-gala for likeminded people who admire the German craftmanship. This event is by invitation only. People are being given invitations based on who registers first.
Mr Ganesh event manager from Akshaya Motors said “The company wants everyone to experience their new machines, current owners as well as admirers all get the chance get behind the wheel of a Mercedes.” Mr. Ram Prasad from Sundaram Motors said “German cars are famous across the world. Everybody wants to drive one, so we are giving everyone a chance to experience it here and eventually buy one someday.”
Mercedes will be putting the following latest models on display to be experienced by guests:
- GLE – Launched last year on March 21, 2016 at a price of Rs 58.90 lakhs. Mercedes revamped its nomenclature and named all its SUV with GL initials; GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS.
- GLC – The new model which is the SUV equivalent of C class was also introduced this year in India on 28th February at a cost of Rs 47.90 lakhs.
- New E Class – The revamped model of the E class will hit the showrooms in March at a price of Rs 50 lakhs. The new variant has a longer wheel base and is the longest car in the segment.
New variants of A Class and CLA with minor cosmetic changes were also launched in late 2016 and these will also be on display to be experienced and driven by guest.
According to the sales report of FY 2016, in spite of losing sales, Mercedes still retains the top position with most sales in luxury segment. The company sold 13,231 units in 2016, with C Class being the highest seller.
Auto Expo 2017
The auto expo being sponsored by ‘The Hindu’ will also be taking place at the same time as Mercedes’ individual event. “The event will have all the latest cars and two-wheelers at display” said Akash, crew member of the event organizing team from the venue White Orchid Convention Centre, ORR-KR Puram road.
Unlike the Luxe-drive guests can’t drive the vehicles here, but it will have everything on display from a Vespa to a Maserati. There will also be a stunt show by a local stunt riding team. The event will run from 18th march 8:30 a.m. to 19th march 8 p.m.
Pulsar Festival of Speed
Biker boys don’t worry, the IT-Hub of India has got you people covered as well. The Indian two-wheeler giant Bajaj Motors has set up an interactive event for all the thrill riders as well.
This festival of speed will have everything from racing to Stunt shows. The event is being held at Meco Kartopia, Chaggalagati Village, Hennur Bagalur Road, Bangalore in 19th March from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone can attend the event but only Pulsar owners can race. India’s best stunt riding team Ghost Ryderz will also be providing a stunt show.
There will be a workshop on fixing basic problems and maintenance of bikes.
There will be musical performance by Raghu Dixit.
