Woman found dead beside railway track

BANGALORE (April 2)― A middle-aged woman was found dead on Thursday beside the railway track ahead of Jnanabharati Junction on Mysore Road.

Police who rushed on the spot after they received information about the dead body lying beside the track said that she was hit by a train.

“I received a message from railways about the accident at around 9 a.m. and I have been investigating this case,” R. S. Bylanjanaiah, the sub-inspector said.

Suresh, a passerby who spotted the woman’s body first said, “I saw this body in the morning. She was bleeding heavily from the head.”

The body is yet not claimed or identified by anyone.

Residents near the Jnanabharati Junction, who spoke to The SoftCopy, said that many people cross the railway track every day to visit the temple, which is on the other side of the railway track.

“This place is very risky as it is prone to accidents because many people cross the railway track to visit the temple,” said Kiran, who was present at the accident spot.
